I use a transdiagnostic approach to customize treatment to the individual. That means I explore the underlying causes of many of the formal mental health diagnoses that exist rather than labeling and treating the individual based on their diagnosis. For example, if an individual came to me with an Anxiety diagnosis, we might explore their intolerance of uncertainty or fear of failure and/or rejection as possible root causes of their anxiety and move forward from that starting place.
While I have education and training in a number of therapy models, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Mindfulness interventions are my forte. No matter what, I will approach each individual uniquely and we will work together to seek the most beneficial and meaningful treatment strategies.
